Colorado County Hunting Leases

Colorado County is in the Oak-Prairie wildlife district of Texas, with its namesake, the Colorado River, traversing south down the county center. The town of Columbus is the county seat and the county covers about 964 square miles of rolling land. The county offers many hunting opportunities, and at one time, the town of Eagle Lake claimed to be the “Goose Hunting Capital of the World”. Game species include White-tailed Deer, Hog, Alligator, Quail, Predators, Dove, Crane, Duck and Goose. The county is home to the Attwater Prairie Chicken National Wildlife Refuge and is part of the Texas Pioneer Trail.
