Wyatt Ranches is offering one of the satellite ranches situated at our Tres Vidas Division for a recreational, year round, hunting lease. The lease is the historic Parr Los Horcones de Tres Vidas Ranch, and is situated on SH 339, south of Benavides.
Hacienda Parr, a Spanish colonial hacienda built by Senator Archie Parr in 1906, is offered as a part of this recreational lease. There is also a just-renovated swimming pool and pool cabana structure that were built in late 1940's. The historic structure and Los Horcones ranch are mentioned and depicted in several publications. The venerable "Dukes of Duval," being Senator Archie Parr and his son George Parr, along with great nephew Archer Parr, are all legendary in South Texas lore. Several published books, magazine articles, and countless newspaper articles recount the ranch's involvement with the Parr family's political dynasty in South Texas. Remnants of the old asphalt landing strip, where LBJ landed in 1948 to visit with George Parr just before the Box 13 scandal, still remain.
Although rich in history, this recreational lease is also rich in South Texas game - and possesses the genetics and high protein browse known to produce trophy whitetail deer. The habitat for deer and wildlife is outstanding. With the exception of one fence line adjacent to a single neighboring ranch, the remainder of ranch is high fenced. There are currently seven enclosed blinds on this recreational lease and some eighteen feeders.
Wyatt Ranches acquired this ranch as a part of the Tres Vidas Division; and, no wildlife has been harvested from the property since January of 2024. Species at this ranch include Whitetail deer, feral hogs, Javelina, quail, dove, turkey, bobcats and coyotes. Prior to the Ranches' acquisition, the ranch was under a strict game management program administered by the late Atlee Parr, Esquire, who was proud of the "great trophy deer" he produced.
There is a mixture of brush country where species of Acacia, Black Brush, Guajillo, Guayacan, Granjeno, and Mesquite, all high in protein, are found in abundance, along with additional cover of Huisatche, Cenizo, and Hackberry. The open pastures are filled with a variety of Buffelgrass, Blue Stem, Trichloris, along with other natives grasses. The terrain is moderately rolling and elevations vary from 280 ft. to 356 ft. above sea level.
Access to the property is through the automated, telephone and CCTV controlled, access gate on State Highway 339, some file miles south of Benavides. Privacy is assured as there are no road easements through the property and there are no public roads on any boundary lines except for the highway frontage
